The Students' Health Advisor, Lynda McLaren is a registered nurse and health visitor with a special interest in students' health. This service is provided for ALL students attending the university - you don't have to be registered with the Medical Centre. Students attend for many reasons including: · general support and advice · stress management including anxiety/panic attacks · relationship issues including sexuality · eating disorders · dietary issues, healthy eating and exercise · support to stop smoking including NRT (nicotine
replacement therapy) on prescription as appropriate · general enquiries re alcohol and drugs · sexual health · bereavement · referrals can be made to other agencies as needed The service is completely confidential The Health Advisor is based at the Medical Centre and is usually available Monday to Thursday term-time. Prior arrangements are not always necessary but it is helpful if you can make an appointment.
